  • Outdoor Mask Requirements Lifted

On August 24, 2021, the Visalia Unified School District (VUSD) Board of Trustees took action to follow the California Department of Public Health’s Guidance for K-12 Schools. Based on this action, the outdoor masking requirement, as announced on August 17, 2021, for VUSD students and staff has been lifted. Although masks are no longer mandated outdoors for students and staff at VUSD, per CDPH recommendations, “Masks are one of the most effective and simplest safety mitigation layers to prevent in-school transmission of COVID-19 infections and to support full time in-person instruction in K-12 schools”. According to CDPH, universal masking also permits modified quarantine practices under certain COVID-19 exposure conditions in K-12 settings, further promoting more instructional time for students. This simply means students would not miss as much school. Our goal is to keep our students safe, healthy, and in school for in-person, full-time instruction five days a week. We must continue to work together as we strive to make health and safety our number one priority for our students, families, and staff.

  • 2021-2022 VTEC Bell Schedule

Attached is the link for the 2021-2022 VTEC Bell Schedule. As in the past VTEC will have late start on Fridays, not Mondays, like the rest of VUSD. The reason for this is because of the partnership with College of the Sequoias and the need to have a schedule that is accommodating for students taking COS courses. Most COS courses are Monday through Thursday and this aligns well to the VTEC block schedule. If you have any questions, contact the office is (559) 622-3212.

  • VTEC Tardy Policy

One of the VTEC 6 C's is character. Part of having good character is being on time. Because of that, VTEC is initiating a NEW tardy policy, beginning August 23. Please click on the link to see the policy and consequences. Consequences for excessive tardies include loss of off-campus lunch privileges and detention. We will also be extending passing periods to help students make it to class on time. Punctuality is important in life and in school. Please help us by ensuring your student is at school on time each morning. Thank you
